Empirical Assessment and Comparison of Educational Efficiency between Major Countries across the World

Education is a fundamental factor to enhance country’s comprehensive national strength and international competitiveness. Recently, several governments have been attracting investments in educational sectors contemplation of meliorating overall strength. This study empirically assesses compares the efficiency 29 major countries across world using panel data for 2010–2016 by employing envelopment analysis (DEA) super-slacks-based measure (super-SBM) model at static level combined with Malmquist index (MI) investigate dynamic level. The results indicate, inter alia, huge average education differences existed among studied countries, highest being Japan (3.2845) lowest Norway (0.4137), there are bias technological progress during sample period directly affects sustainability efficiency, growth rate total productivity (TFP) has reduced 2010–2013 but increased 2014–2016 dominant influencing rise TFP index. Based on results, this identifies merits drawbacks presents relevant recommendations promote investment sector human capital.
